Sunoco to Donate to Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sunoco, Inc. (NYSE:SUN) announced that it will donate $1 million to the American Red Cross in support of the relief efforts along the Gulf Coast to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. In addition, the Company will match dollar for dollar contributions made by employees and donate its match to the Red Cross.

Our thoughts and support are also with those employees who work at Sunoco Chemicals Houston Operations which includes the La Porte and Bayport chemical plants. As thousands of displaced residents from the hurricane have sought refuge in the Houston area, employees have responded with open arms.

In addition to the Houston Operations efforts to feed relief victims, many employees are volunteering through their churches and other organizations to provide needed support.
